When I take a look at the world around me and consider worldwide issues like war, poverty, social injustice, drugs, violence, crime, political corruption etc., my question to myself and God are "What can I do to help make things better?" Today I received my answer –LOVE!
On this Valentine's Day I am reminded of our purpose—of my purpose as a believer and disciple of Christ--we are purposed to LOVE.
We are called by LOVE to LOVE to be LOVED and to give LOVE.
GOD is LOVE.
The greatest commandments are 1) Love God will all that you are and all that you have and 2) Love your neighbor as yourself (Matt. 22:36-39). Today as I examine myself I admit that my personal and spiritual life is crippled due to my lack in love. Furthermore, the Body of Christ is likewise crippled and suffering because we are lacking in love.
I challenge you today to do a love check. Yes, conduct a self-evaluation to see how you are loving. Valentine's Day can cause many different feelings and emotions in people but rather focusing on receiving love today--think about where you measure up on the scale of GIVING LOVE. Are you loving like GOD? Personally, I know where I stand and I have to humbly go to God and repent for my lack of love. My prayer is that God will intensify my burden to Love and equip me with the tools and resources to be a blessing by demonstrating His love to others. I’m not striving for perfection but I will strive to give God my absolute best! I want to love like Him.
Beloved, God has the power to refresh and restore us. God stands willing and ready to teach us, show us and empower us to Love like Him. The REAL question is: Are YOU ready for LOVE??
Be encouraged to rest in, meditate on and express GOD’S LOVE today and always.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
